CAITLIN MITCHELL PHOTOGRAPHY PRESENTS MON PETIT SECRET, A SOLO SHOW IN CONJUNCTION WITH MADAME X, NEW YORK CITY.

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK – OCTOBER 14, 2009 – Caitlin Mitchell Photography presents Mon Petit Secret, a series of original black and white photographs by Caitlin Mitchell, featuring model Leigh Yeager. In Mon Petit Secret, Ms. Mitchell’s photos are particularly notable for their innovative application of natural light and choice of setting, used to illustrate the movement and beauty of the image, while simultaneously capturing the magnetic sexuality of the subject matter. The solo show premieres at Madame X, located at 94 West Houston Street, New York, NY with doors opening at 6PM on Wednesday October 14, 2009, and continuing through November 9, 2009.

Mon Petit Secret is a series of hand-selected black and white photos meant to depict a young, sensual, Parisian woman captured in her private moments throughout the day. The series as a whole tells a story about the voyeuristic and perhaps, secret relationship between the subject matter and the viewer. The photos offer a commentary on independence, anticipation, private spaces and moments, youth, and the juxtaposition between raw sexuality and the beauty of the lingerie-adorned female form.

Ms. Mitchell is a portrait and fashion photographer. Her photos are often characterized by the unique combination of a fashion-photojournalistic style with her ability to draw out the personalities, emotions and energy of the subject. Ms. Mitchell has worked in studio and on location across the globe, with top name talent and photographers. Born and raised in Alaska, Ms. Mitchell attended the Williston-Northampton school in Massachusetts and graduated from Lewis & Clark College with a B.A. in Communications. Ms. Mitchell currently lives in the West Village, and is proud to be a New York City resident where she has lived and worked as a photographer for over seven years.
