Ruggz began his journey in music at a young age. Music was always being played in his household.  As a child, his father use to quiz him on old soul records about who sang and wrote the songs. Around this time he was introduced to BBoying. Ruggz began learning about music production and made music casually well into his early teens. Around the age of 12 he became intrigued by the music BBoys/Bgirls danced to and started collecting songs that related to the dance. Now collecting music has become a life-long passion.

Towards the end of his college years he began to pursue DJing and revisited music production. He eventually received recognition in the New York City dance scene and has DJed for parties and major competitions throughout the Tri-State Area. Having  performed on ‘The Today Show’ and Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., Ruggz wants to continue to share his love of music with anyone willing to listen. Specializing in 80s, reggae, afrobeat, funk and alternative, he also enjoys spinning 90s and 2000s hip hop/top40.
